Dairon Blanco went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer, two steals and four runs scored as the Royals topped the Angels 10-4 on Thursday.

Blanco’s homer was his first, but his steals were his ninth and 10th in just 34 plate appearances this season. At this point, it certainly seems like he deserves a shot over the remains of Hunter Renfroe, and if he gets it, he’ll likely be an impact player in mixed leagues, thanks to his SB ability. He’s 38-for-44 stealing bases in 99 games as a major leaguer.

MIL Right Fielder #22

Christian Yelich went 3-for-4 with an RBI on Thursday, lifting the Brewers to a 7-1 blowout victory over the division-rival Cardinals.

Yelich shook off Wednesday’s tough 0-for-5 performance in his return from the injured list against the Royals with a stellar three-hit performance in his return to American Family Field. The 32-year-old corner outfielder padded Milwaukee’s lead with a run-scoring triple in the fifth inning as part of a three-hit effort that raised his full-season batting average to a sublime .333 (16-for-48) mark through 13 games. If he can avoid the back issues that have plagued him the last few years, he’ll remain an impact contributor for fantasy managers.

NYY Right Fielder #99

Aaron Judge walloped a 473-foot solo homer on Thursday in the Yankees’ loss to the Astros.

Judge’s tape-measure shot to left-center field off Astros relief ace Ryan Pressly slashed New York’s deficit to just a single run in the eighth inning. The 32-year-old former AL MVP Award winner has started to heat up at the dish with three big flies in his last four contests. It’s going to take a while for his surface stats to fully recover from his frosty start, but he’s up to .236/.362/.493 with 19 runs scored, nine homers, 25 RBI and two steals through 175 plate appearances.
Josh Hader

HOU Relief Pitcher #71

Josh Hader recorded a four-out save on Thursday against the Yankees.

Hader came on to record the final out of the eighth inning before heading back out to spin a scoreless ninth inning to collect his fourth save of the season. The 30-year-old lefty has converted four of five save chances in his Astros debut so far to go along with a bloated 5.63 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 25/7 K/BB ratio across 16 innings (16 appearances). There’s zero reason for concern here moving forward as he continues to miss bats at an elite rate.
Mason Miller

OAK Relief Pitcher #19

The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports the Athletics’s asking price for flame-throwing closer Mason Miller is steep.

Rosenthal adds that a team source indicates no team has come close to meeting Oakland’s astronomical asking price. The 25-year-old starter-turned-closer has been phenomenal this season, with a microscopic 1.10 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 33/4 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings (13 appearances). It’s entirely possible that no team will come close to coughing up enough prospect capital to make a deal happen, but Miller figures to be at the epicenter of rumors leading up to the trade deadline later this summer.
Charlie Blackmon

COL Right Fielder #19

Charlie Blackmon doubled and tripled while driving in a pair of runs in a 9-1 rout of the Giants on Thursday.

Blackmon also singled, and that base knock drove in a run in the fourth inning. The former fantasy star has been just so-so — at best — in 2024 with a slash of .241/.299/.370, but this does make back-to-back multi-hit games for Blackmon. There’s just not enough offensive consistency at this stage in his career to trust him as a regular option.
Willson Contreras

STL Catcher #40

Willson Contreras underwent successful surgery on Wednesday to repair a fractured left forearm.

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol told reporters Contreras is likely to miss upwards of 10 weeks, rather than the 6-8 week timetable the veteran backstop provided earlier this week. The 31-year-old figures to be on the shelf until sometime right around the All-Star break in mid-July.
Bryan Woo

SEA Starting Pitcher #22

Bryan Woo (elbow) will start on Friday against the Athletics.

Woo will make his return to Seattle’s starting rotation after missing the opening six weeks of the regular season recovering from right elbow inflammation. The 24-year-old righty was sharp in his latest rehab start for Triple-A Tacoma with six strikeouts over five scoreless frames and shouldn’t have any workload restrictions in his season debut. It’s an extremely tasty matchup, which makes Woo a viable option for fantasy managers in all formats right out of the gate.
Robert Gasser

MIL Starting Pitcher #85

Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the Brewers are calling up pitching prospect Robert Gasser to start Friday against the Cardinals.

Gasser seemed like he had a real shot at breaking camp in Milwaukee’s pitching mix before landing on the shelf with a bone spur in his left elbow. The 24-year-old southpaw misses plenty of bats, which gives him some appeal for fantasy managers, especially in deeper mixed leagues.
Pablo Lopez

MIN Starting Pitcher #49

Pablo López allowed just a run while striking out 10 over 6 1/3 innings in a victory over the Mariners on Thursday.

López held the M’s to four hits, didn’t walk anyone, and threw 61-of-100 pitches for strikes. The only run came on an RBI single by Luke Raley in the second, and the only reason that run was able to score was Mitch Haniger reached on a bloop-double where two Minnesota defenders ran into each other. Outside of that the right-hander continued to impress, and he lowered his ERA to 3.89 — a number that is not indicative of how well he’s pitched this year. López will be a must-start even against the Yankees next week.
